#2 Vocabulary Exercise

1. estate: a large area of land, usually in the country, that is owned by one person or family

    Example: She receives rent from all the people whose cottages are on estate land.

2. relevant : closely connected with the subject you are discussing or the situation you are thinking about

    Example: Send me all the relevant information.

3. rein: the state of being in control or the leader of something

    Example: The vice president was forced to  take up the reins  of office.

4. fade: to disappear gradually

    Example: All other issues  fade into insignificance  compared with the struggle for survival.

5. bond :  something that forms a connection between people or groups, such as a feeling of friendship or shared ideas and experiences


    Example: The agreement strengthened the bonds between the two countries.
